A recording of the proceedings of the court of Their Excellencies of Delftwood, Baron Ixac ben Simone and Baroness Amalie Reinhardt, newly invested 12th Baronage of Delftwood at the Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins on the 9th Day of February, A.S. LIII (2019) as presented and recorded by Freiherrin Helena Mützhasen, Windmill Pursuivant
In the Morning
Their Excellencies welcomed all gentles at the event to take a token from the bowl at the Gate, and if they saw someone doing a kindness or service large or small, to give that token to that person.
Their Excellencies then received their predecessors, The Honorable Lord Marcus Claudius Cincinnatus and Mistress Desiderata Drake, and presented their predecessors with parting gifts to utilize in their retirement. THL Marcus and Mistress Desiderata then presented a new banner stand with spinning windmill made by Lord Jasper Longshanks, and banner made by Freiherrin Helena Mützhasen.
Court was suspended.
In the Evening
Their Excelencies again welcomed all to the event, and hoped that everyone enjoyed themselves.
Abijorn Þórstæinn (now called Osa), Cyneric Dracaheorte, John Michael Thorpe, Justin Lymner, Rian Gortyroyan, Sibyl Cairnfalcon, William Fitzwilliam of Delftwood, Dathi Thorfinsson, and Solveig Thondardottir were all called before Their Excellencies, who then presented them with belt favors signifying 35 and 40 years of participating in the Society.
Their Excellencies then invited all Delftwood denizens (including honorary) to seek out the containers with favors in them, find their name, and take their favor indicating their years of participation (narrowed to 5 year increments).
Their Excellencies called forth Vedis Aradottir, and named her the winner of the Blue and White Scroll Blank competition – noting it was her first time illuminating.
Lord Jan Lange ten Walde was called forth to discuss the results of the day’s fencing. He held a highwayman’s tournament for Baronial Fencing Champion, which also included a secret component. Unbeknownst to her, Lady Ania Mhoireach won this secret tournament, and received a coin purse representing her ill-gotten gains. There was also a bearpit tournament, which was won by Lord Robert Oliphant, who will receive a prize from Their Excellencies at a later date.
Lord Jan was then divested of his regalia as Baronial Fencing Champion, released from service, and allowed to take his comfort among the populace.
Finding a vacancy in Their champions, Their Excellencies called forth Don Michael Gladwyne and named him Baronial Rapier Champion, investing him in the regalia. Scroll illuminated by Baron Caleb Reynolds, with calligraphy and words by Freiherr Fridrich Flußmüllner.
Their Excellencies then noted they held their first ever Baronial Youth Arts & Sciences Champion competition. They called forth Fela Flußmüllnerin, named her as Champion and invested her in new regalia as befitting the position. The Baron and Baroness then sought out the Event Steward, Lady Elizabeth the Nameless, and her mentor Dame Jennet the Gentle (who was allowed to remain in the kitchen to finish Feast). They were given tea cups and tea so they could relax after the event, for it was revealed that the regularly-scheduled cook had fallen ill, and not recovered as late as two days before the event, so the two had to think on their feet.
Their Excellences asked that many more people be called forth to join Lady Elizabeth, provided they were not working in the kitchen, to be thanked for stepping up to make the food happen: The Honorable Lady Svanna in kyrra, The Honorable Lady Moniczka Poznanska, and Baron Aiden Rainsford for the Dayboard; and Edelvrouwe Lijsbet de Keukere, Abijorn Þórstæinn (now called Osa), Lady Maddelena d’Agostino, The Honorable Lady Fionnghuala ingean Diarmada, Dame Sibyl Cairnfalcone, and Lady Eleanora Rosewycke for the feast. All the gentles were given potholders filled with goodies as a token of thanks for their work.
Lady Wylde Wysse was called forth, and given a special token from Their Excellencies and Lady Elziabeth for her work in creating site tokens and belt favors.
The comedic stylings of Lady Elizabeth were then on showcase as she asked “How many peers does it take to fix a door?” with the answer being “Three: A Pelican, A Laurel, and a Master of Defense.” She then thanked Master Bedwyr, Master Eric, and Master Rian for repairing a broken door.
Finally, Lady Elizabeth thanked her staff and helpers, including Artemius Andreas Magnus, Michael Gladwyne, Helena Mützhasen, Benedict Fergus atte Mede, Justin Lymner, Oðindisa Bykona, Anthony of Delftwood, Moniczka Poznonska, Svanna in kyrra, Aidan Rainsford, Jennet the Gentle, and Cyneric Dracaheorte.
Their Excellencies Then called forth Kettlingr, Don Michael Gladwyne, Lady Gulsah al Zakiyya, and Lord Sebastian Mora and bestowed upon them Millstones for their work that day.
The Baronage called forth Lord Dubhgall Domnall MacNayre, and spoke of his dedication to the archery and thrown weapons communities. They then inducted him into the Order of the Millguard. Scroll illuminated by Baron Caleb Reynolds with wording and calligraphy by Freiherr Fridrich Flußmüllner.
Their Excellencies then summoned Lady Glenna Chomondeley, and spoke glowingly of her talents in the fiber arts, after which they inducted her into the Order of the Capstan. Scroll illuminated by Ania Mhoireach with wording and calligraphy by Freiherr Fridrich Flußmüllner.
They then thanked all for sharing the tokens of thanks.
