SCA Member since:
1999

My favorite things to do in the SCA are:
I am a bumlerin (traveling women) with my husband’s Fähnlein (banner troop) in the German Landsknecht army.  My whole family, Fridrich, Freya, Frytz, and I travel together.

As a girl, I grew up in my Mother’s tailor shop and learned the trade at her elbow. I married Fridrich, whose family owned a mill in downtown Rottweil, but we have leased it now to raise funds as mercenaries. Someday we will retire to our mill, but for now we enjoy learning about new lands and customs in our travels. We travel as mercenaries to many countries, including the Holy Roman Empire, the Swiss Confederacy, the Italian States, the Low Countries, and England. Perhaps someday we will even travel to the Rus lands!  But we will not fight for the French, no matter the price!

As a war wife and tailor, I sew for my family and the rest of the Fähnlein as needed. I also cook, set camp, make and maintain armor, play music for the marching, sing at the campfire, and herald the troop to battle and court. I love to learn new things on our travels and to bring new customs to other lands.

I participate/have interest(s) in the following activities:
Arts & Sciences, Heavy Weapons, Cooking, Scribal Arts, Bardic Arts, and Heraldry.

If I could be anyone in (period) history , I would be…
A bumlerin with the Landsknecht armies.

If you saw me at an SCA event, I most likely would be…
running around trying to take care of a million things.

The top item on my “SCA bucket list” to try is…
matching embroidered Swabian dresses for my daughter, Freya, and myself.  Oh, and something to match for the boys.

What do you like most about being in the SCA?
Learning and teaching.
