My favorite things to do in the SCA are:
Learn new skills and in doing so, learn more about my self. Whether I’m Building Bow strings, fletching arrows working with wood or leather, doing bobbin lace playing the flute or Illuminating documents. I am never so happy as to be learning something new.
I participate/have interest(s) in the following activities:
Arts & Sciences, Heavy Weapons, Fencing, Thrown Weapons, Archery, Combat Archery, Scribal Arts, Bardic Arts, and Heraldry.
If I could be anyone in (period) history , I would be…
Leonardo da Vinci, Archimedes of Syracuse, or Heron of Alexandria — One of the great inventors or creators, builders and dreamers.
If you saw me at an SCA event, I most likely would be…
Martial activity De’jour , playing an instrument, or working on the art or science I am currently most intrigued by.
The top item on my “SCA bucket list” to try is…
umm. hmmm… Armoring… Metal smithing… Nail binding… Glass working … Bowery… Meadering (is that a word?) actually learning to read music… learning the Irish flute… oh look a squirrel….clouds… fluffy … what was the question?
What do you like most about being in the SCA?
The endless opportunities to learn, and teach and grow beyond the limited borders of our mundane world.
Delftwood rocks because…
it’s Home…. in every definition of the word.
