Barony of Delftwood

Being the report of the Court of Their Excellencies, Benedecit Fergus Atte Meade and Helene al-Zarqa, by the grace of the crown 10th baron and baroness of Delftwood. Documented: The Business of the Court of Their Excellencies at Delftwood Yule: Friðr Tourney, 6 December Anno Societatis XLIX. As recorded by Lord Marcus Claudius Cincinnatus, Windmill Pursuivant. With the Assistance of Lady Margarita Carpintero

Their Excellencies welcomed the assembled populace to the event. They spoke of the many fine displays of artistry they had seen this day, and their pride in Delftwood’s Artisans

Those gentles attending their first event were summoned forth and given tokens as both welcome and reminders of their first day in these, the current Middle Ages.

Their Excellencies did then determine which of the populace in attendance had traveled the furthest to attend the day’s festivities, and provided them with sustenance for their journey home.

Their Excellencies then requested that Baronsfru Othindissa Bykona, the autocrat of the event join them in their court. Baronsfru Othindissa came forward and, with the permission of the Baronage, addressed the populace, thanking all who had contributed to the success of the day.

Baronsfru Othindisa Bykona named the champion of the Frithr (Peace) tournament as Lady Lasairfhiona ingen Aindriasa  for her splendid cooking, and gave an honorable mention to Illaryia of Delftwood for her needwork and wirework.

Their Excellencies summoned their current Arts & Sciences Champion, Lady Amalie Reinhardt, and spoke of her successful term as champion. They divested her of her regalia and released her from her service. They then summoned Kalishka Perdeslava and spoke of her skill as a glass artist; and selected her as their new Arts & Sciences Champion.

Their Excellencies spoke to the populace of the beautiful and wondrous competition of bards that had taken place this day. His Excellency noted that one Bard had told a wondrous tale, which he found particularly moving. So motivated, Their Excellencies did name Ixac Ben Simon the victor of the day. Their Excellencies also noted the strong performance and poetic skill of Lady Genvieve du Chaumont.

Ixac Ben Simon was retained in Their Excellencies court, whilst they remarked that the competition of bards this day had served a particular purpose. They summoned Jan Langhe ten Walde into their court, and reminded him that his successful term as their Champion of Performance Arts had ended. They divested him of his regalia, and released him from their service. Their Excellencies then presented Ixac with the regalia of Performance Arts champion, and did invest him so, and commanded him to assume his place in their court.

Millstones were presented to Baron Boris Dragonsbane, Lord Eoin MacCogadhián, Lady Carpintero de Diaz, and Ixac ben Simon for their extra efforts in making sure the event went smoothly for all.

Their Excellencies noted that they had been tasked by the former Imperatorii, Tindal et Etain, to complete a piece of business from their reign.  So speaking Wylde Wysse was summoned before Their Excellencies, and presented with the scroll commemorating her Award of Arms.

Lord Jan Langhe ten Walde was invited before Their Excellencies. Whereupon his considerable skills in the performing arts were discussed. Their Excellencies, finding Lord Jan more than worthy, did name him a companion of the Capstan.

Their Excellencies were next attended by Lord Reinaldr bjortappr. Their Excellencies spoke of Lord Reinaldr’s growing skills upon the field of archery, and his willingness to serve as a marshal of archery.  These facts so moved Their Excellencies that they created him a Companion of the Guard of the Mill.

Lady Wylde Wysse was again brought before Their Excellencies.  Her willingness to serve the Barony in any capacity she could, and in any capacity asked had inspired Their Excellencies.  They were so inspired that they did name her a companion of the Windmill.

Their Excellencies then asked Her Ladyship, Svana in Kyrra to attend them.  They spoke to her of her continuing service to Delftwood, despite no longer being a member of its populace. For her unending work to support Delftwood, they did name her a Friend of the Windmill.

Their Excellencies thanked all those in attendance for coming, and hoped all had as inspiring a day as they.
