Barony of Delftwood
Being the court report of Their Excellencies, Benedict Fergus atte Mede and Helene al Zarqa', Tenth Baron and Baroness of Delftwood, by the grace of the Crown of Æthelmearc. Held at Baronial Yule in Their Barony of Delftwood on January 4th, Anno Societatus Forty-Eight. Baronsfrú Oðthindisa Býkona reporting herald; assisted by Lord Marcus Claudius Cincinnatus and Marcellus Titus Cincinnatus.
Their Excellencies welcomed everyone to the event.
Their Excellencies called before them all those for whom this is their first event in our Society. They welcomed the newcomers and gave them tokens to encourage them to further explore the society.
Their Excellencies determined those who travelled the farthest to attend the event, and welcomed them into their court. They gave the travelers tokens to remember Delftwood.
Their Excellencies noted that they heard many delightful performances. They called before them their current Baronial Performance Arts Champion, Lady Amalie Reinhardt, and had her declare the winner of the overall performance arts competition. Their Excellencies then thanked Amalie for her service and divested her of the regalia and asked her to take her seat among the populace. They noted that they were short a champion, and asked that Lord Jan Langhe ten Walde be called forth to take up the duties of Performance Arts Champion. Their Excellencies called before them their current Arts & Sciences Champion, Lord Corwin Alexander Templeton, and had him declare the winner of the overall Arts & Sciences Competition. Mistress Alheydis von Körckhingen was named as overall winner. Scroll by: Isadora Rogan and Baroness Clarice Roan
Their Excellencies then thanked Corwin for his service and divested him of his regalia and asked him to take his seat among the populace. Their Excellencies were also pleased with the many blueberry dishes for their Food & Drink Artisan Challenge, and named Mistress Alheydis von Körckhingen the winner of the challenge. They encouraged everyone to participate in the upcoming metal-work/jewelry challenge at the Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Their Excellencies asked that the event steward, Margarita Carpintero, be called forward to give her thanks to her staff. She also announced that $208 was raised from the raffle of the wooden chest and basket.
Their Excellencies explained that some people went above and beyond at Yule. They called before them Margarita Carpintero, Catalina Carpintero de Diaz, Lady Lijsbet de Keukere, Lord Finnr jafnkollr, Baroness Jennet the Gentle, Lord Aidan Ransford, and Baroness Clarice Roan and gave them Millstones. They asked those people to stay in court.
Their Excellencies then noted that certain people worked incredibly hard at A Shoote in the Wildwood, which wasn’t noted until after their second court. They called before them Baron Oeric Lestrange and Jarrah ibn Balshazzar al Hamadani, and gave them Millstones for cleaning and seasoning all the cast iron (in the dark) so everyone could leave the event with clean cook wear.
They bid Margarita stay before them just a bit longer and inducted her into the Order of the Windmill for her service as Chronicler and for running a wonderful event under difficult circumstances. Scroll by: Meisterin Felicitas Flußmüllnerin
They welcomed Aurelio di Baldasare into their court and inducted him into the Order of the Windmill for his quiet service to Delftwood, to the archery community, and to Delftwood’s Pennsic camp. Scroll by: Lady Gwinfar and Baroness Clarice Roan
Their Excellencies remembered that they still had some business with Lady Amalie Reinhardt, and asked she return to their court. They then inducted her into the Order of the Windmill for her service in multiple offices, and for taking minutes at business meetings. Scroll by Her Excellency, Helene al Zarqa
Their Excellencies asked that all members of the Order of the Windmill to stand and greet their new companions.
Their Excellencies then called before them all members of the Order of the Capstan present. They noted that the order was missing someone, and called Lady Lisbet de Keukere from the kitchen. There being no further business, the court of their Excellencies was closed.
