Barony of Delftwood
Being the report of the Court of Their
Excellencies, Artemius Andreas
Magnus and Clarice Roan, by the grace of the crown 8th baron and
baroness of Delftwood. Court held on September the 5th , anno
societatis XLIV, being in the new manner anno domini 2009, at Their
Shoote in the Wildewood in the Barony of Delftwood. Reporting

Mistress Alheydis von Körckhingen with the assistance of Lady
Helene al-Zarqa’.
Their Excellencies invited before them any gentles for whom the day was
their first event. Their Excellencies welcomed those newest travelers
to the current middle ages and bid them to seek out the wisdom of the
populace, that they might grow better acquainted with this the Knowne
World.
Their Excellencies invited before them all youth in attendance and
solicited from them a most exuberant affirmation of the day’s delights
and proffered unto them cookies from the baronial larder.
Their Excellencies welcomed Her Excellency Caryl, Countess
Æthelmearc, speaking on behalf of herself and His Excellency Sir
Yngvar Earl Æthelmearc, as well as Bran mac Dímmáin
and Vilhjálmr Eðvarðarson, sons of Edward and Anastasie,
heirs to Artemius and Clarice. Her Excellency Caryl announced the
sponsorship of Their Excellencies Æthelmearc of a deed of arms to
be undertaken by Bran and Vilhjálmr, and bid the heralds of the
court read to the populace the intent of the youths.
Their Excellencies called before them Lord Fridrich
Flußmüllner and Lord Gyles de Blair. Their Excellencies
thanked Lord Fridrich for his service as the Baronial Champion of
Thrown Weapons and divested him of the regalia of that station. Their
Excellencies then invested Lord Gyles as Their new Baronial Champion of
Thrown Weapons and bid him join Their retinue upon the dais. Scroll by

Their Excellencies called forth Baron Caleb Reynolds and named him the
victor in the overall Thrown Weapons Tournament.
Their Excellencies called forth Lord Justin Lymner, Baronial Arts and
Sciences Champion, who spoke of the artistry of the contestants of the
day’s Arts and Sciences competition. Lord Justin announced his
successor to be Lady Helene-al-zarqa’ and invited the populace to view
the work of her hands, a Viking cap made for Vilhjálmr
Eðvarðarson. Their Excellencies divested Lord Justin of the
regalia of that station and thanked him for his service to Their court,
whereupon they invested Lady Helene as Their new Champion of Arts and

Their Excellencies called forth Dragos Pelikanos before them and named
him the victor of the overall Arts and Sciences competition, at which
time Lord Justin held aloft the work of Dragos’s hands, a walking stick
resist-patterned and darkened by the fires of the baronial hearth.
Their Excellencies called forth Heero Himoura and Drefan Ravenson.
Their Excellencies thanked Heero-san for his service as Their Baronial
Heavy Weapons Champion, whereupon he was divested of the regalia of
that station. Their Excellencies then invested Drefan Ravenson as the
new Baronial Champion of Heavy Weapons and bid him join Their retinue

Their Excellencies called forth His Excellency Earl Sir Yngvar the
Dismal, upon whose well-timed arrival Their Excellencies named Sir
Yngvar, Earl Æthelmearc, as the victor of the overall Heavy
Weapons Tournament.
Lady Finuola McGill, known as Fenris, was called forth and in honor of
her many endeavors to learn and to teach made her a Companion of the

Lord Henryk Bogusz, herbu Zagłoba, was then called before Their
Excellencies, who spoke at length of the many martial accomplishments
of their subject, in recognition of which they made him a Companion of

There being no further business before Their Excellencies, their court
was suspended.
Being the report of the Court of Their Excellencies, Artemius Andreas

Their Excellencies called into their presence Baroness Jennet the
Gentle, and spoke of her willingness to teach classes on sewing, day
shades, and disguising pop-up tents. In recognition of her artistic
endeavors, they inducted her into the Order of the Capstan. Scroll by

There being no further business before Their Excellencies, their court
was suspended.

Their Excellencies invited before them all those present for whom the
day marked their first event in the Society, welcomed the newcomers,
and gave them tokens of appreciation.
Their Excellencies called before them the autocrats of the event,
Corbinus de Cuvis and Marguerite de Neufchasteau. Their Excellencies
thanked the autocrats for their service, and gave them tokens of
appreciation.
Their Excellencies invited into their court all the youth who defended
the lands of Delftwood from the invading monsters. They then asked Lord
Edward Harbinger to relate the story of the colors of the arrow, and
awarded the arrow to the youngest archer, Madison of Wynterset and
commanded her to appear at the next Shoote in the Wildwood to pass the
arrow onto the next youngest archer.
Their Excellencies called before them Seamus Rogan, outgoing Baronial
Archery Champion, and Marcus Cincinnatus. They thanked Seamus Rogan for
his loyal service and divested him of the regalia of that office,
whereupon they invited Marcus Cincinnatus to serve as the Baronial
Archery Champion and take his place upon the dais. Scroll by Lady

Their Excellencies noted that there also was an overall archery
tournament winner, and called before them Aurelio di Baldasare, whom
they named as the winner of the tournament, and to whom was presented a
prize box by Lord Corbinus de Cuvis.
Their Excellencies further noted that there was a novelty shoot
arranged by Lord Corbinus, and called before them Lord Omelon as the
winner of that tournament. They awarded him a prize box by Lord
Corbinus de Cuvis.
Their Excellencies again called before them Gyles de Blair and spoke of
his skill with thrown weapons and archery, and his service to those
communities, and thus inducted him into the Order of the Guard of the

Their Excellecies once again called Heero Himoura to their presence,
noting that his service to Delftwood went beyond his duties as Heavy
Weapons Champion, including help at Pennsic, and around the Barony. In
honor of his generous service, they inducted him into the Order of the

Catherine O’Herlihy based on the Japanese “Choka” poetic form,
calligraphed by Lady Helene al-Zarqa’.
Their Excellencies then called before them the owners and staff of
Wildwood Sports Center and thanked them for their helpfulness to the
Barony over the long history between the groups, whereupon was

There being no further business, the court of Their Excellencies was
