Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins
Barony of Delftwood
Here follows the report of the court of Their Excellencies, Artemius
Andreas Magnus and Clarice Roan, by the grace of the crown of
AEthelmearc eighth baron and baroness of Delftwood, held at the Feast
of the Seven Deadly Sins in their Barony of Delftwood on the 7th day of
February, anno societatis XLIII, being in the common era 2009, His
Majesty Christopher being in attendance. Alheydis von Körckhingen

As is their custom, Their Excellencies invited the youth of the barony
and beyond to attend them. Their Excellencies inquired as to
whether the youth has enjoyed the activities of the day. After initial
reticence, the youths gave their enthusiastic endorsement of the
event's activities, whereupon they were invited to partake of the
baronial cookie larder.
As is also their custom, Their Excellencies then invited before them
any gentles for whom this day was their first visit to these current
Middle Ages. Their Excellencies thanked them for their presence among
us and charged them with the task of asking excellent questions of our
populace, that they might grow in wisdom and understanding of the Known
World. Each visitor was gifted with a token by which to remember the
day.
Their Excellencies received into their court Baroness Olivia d'Anjou,
who presented His Majesty and Their Excellencies with honey, portioned
from her first harvest as beekeeper.
Their Excellencies welcomed Lord Justin Lymner and Lady Desiderata
Drake, who presented Their Excellencies with medicaments and salves
with which to ensure the increase of those most desirous humors.
Their Excellencies called forth Mistress Sadira bint Wassouf and Master
Saleem ibn Alefan ibn Iftakruddin. In their absence, Their Excellencies
spoke warmly of the many labours by which these gentles are known and
beloved in our Barony, in recognition of which they made them Friends
of the Windmill. A leather-worked scroll crafted by Edward Harbinger
and painted by Anastasie de Lamoure upon a text by Helene al-Zarqa'.
Their Excellencies welcomed the Event Stewards, The Honorable Lady
Moniczka Elzbietka Poznanska and Lady Gillian McGill, who announced the
winners of the arts and sciences competition thusly:
Pride - Lady Aevianna Nordengel - because even her furs have jewels
Wrath - The lady with the wonderfully wrathful hennen
Greed - Lady Gwenhwyfar Morwyn - for her lovely sparkly french hood
Gluttony - Aurora Lucia Marinella - for her wondrous sotlety
Envy - THL Matilda Bosvyle - for her chaperon (because the Baroness
wants one & can't wear it)
Sloth - Lady Svana ina Kyrra - for her lovely, yet unfinished, shift
Lust - Lady Catherine O'Herlihy - for her lovely Italian caul, which is
inspiring men all over the room
They further announced the winner of the hat competition as the
Fabuloso Hat entered by Her Excellency Baroness Jennet the Gentle.
Their Excellencies received into their court the Steward of the event
day-board, Lady Faílenn ingen Chernaich, and the Feast Steward,
Thegn Oeric Lestrange. Their Excellencies thanked them for the
delicacies already enjoyed and those yet to be savoured.
Their Excellencies called upon The Honorable Lord and Captain John
Michael Thorpe, who gave thanks to all participants in the day's
fencing competitions, and special thanks to Corbinus de Cuvis for his
assistance. Lord Corwin Alexander Templeton knelt before Their
Excellencies. His term of service as champion of rapier at an end, he
was divested of the regalia of that office. Don Benedict Fergus atte
Mede, having proved most worthy of the honor, was invested as Their
Excellencies newest champion of rapier. Scroll by Lady Felicity

The Honorable Lord and Captain John Michael Thorpe then announced the
overall winner of the day's tournament as Don Caine Ramsey. Scroll by

Their Excellencies welcome before them their bardic champion, Lady
Gwenhwyvar Morwyn, who knelt before Their Excellencies. Her term of
service at an end, Lady Gwenhwyvar was divested of the regalia of the
office of bardic champion. Their Excellencies called forth Lady
Catherine O'Herlihy who was proclaimed champion of the bardic arts and
invested with the regalia befitting her office. Scroll composed,

Their Excellencies then called forth Lady Fenris McGill, who was
proclaimed the victor of the overall bardic competition. Scroll
illumination by Gwenhwyvar Morwyn; calligraphy and text by Baroness
Clarice Roan.
Their Excellencies called upon their herald to attend them. Mistress
Alheydis von Körckhingen, a bit perplexed at the divergence from
the docket, was to her surprise and delight bestowed the honor of
companionship in Their Order of the Capstan. Scroll calligraphed and
illuminated based upon the Durham Gospel fragment by Faílenn
ingen Chernaich.
Lady Juliana Stafford was then called before Their Excellencies. In
honor of her many labors in the scribal arts, and her many hours of
patient instruction to the populace of the barony, Their Excellencies
made her a companion of the Order of the Capstan. Promisory scroll by
Alheydis von Körckhingen, upon a loquacious English Grant of Arms.
Their Excellencies welcomed Lord Fridrich Flußmüllner, whose
pursuits in the arts martial had not gone unnoticed. Having proved his
skill and strength, Lord Fridrich was made a member of the Millguard.

Verederosa dal Sol was called from her duties in the kitchen to attend
Their Excellencies, who, having seen the many works of her hands and
heart made her a companion of the Order of the Windmill. Scroll by

Their Excellencies them gathered to themselves those members present of
the Order of the Mistral. Their Excellencies called upon Thegn Oeric to
describe to the populace the nature of the Order, whereupon it was
noted that a gentle most befitting membership had yet to named to that
honor. Baron Master Cyneric Dracaheorte was called forth and proclaim a
member and companion of the Mistral. Scroll etching and order insignia

There being no further business before Their Excellencies, their
court was closed.
