Here follows the report of the Court of their Excellencies, Artemius Andreas Magnus and Clarice Roan, Eighth Baron and Baroness of Delftwood, held on the 16th day of February, AS XVII (2008) at the Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins. Lord Edward Harbinger, reporting herald.

Their Excellencies received the autocrats for the event, Éadaoin ingen Chanacáin and Helene al-Zarqa'. Their Excellencies thanked the autocrats for a fine event and asked if there were any winners in the various contests of the day. The autocrats then called in Lord Dragul Maksimov Vodnikov from the Kingdom of Ealdormere and declared him to be the overall Bardic winner of the day, scroll to is a work in progress. Then Lord Edward Harbinger was called forth and declared to be the Arts and Sciences winner of the day, scroll,calligraphy and illumination by Lady Helene al-Zarqa’. Mistress Sadira bint Wassouf was called forth and named the Soltety winner of the day. Each of these winners was presented with a glass goblet etched by our very own Baron Artemius with the exception of the Soltety winner, who received a box of spices. Their Excellencies then dismissed the autocrats after thanking them again for their efforts.

Lady Helene was then recalled to court, as her autocrat duties would prevent her from attending all of court. She was thanked for serving as Bardic Champion for the last year and was divested of office. She was then released to continue her autocrat duties.

Lord Benedict Fergus atte Mede was called forth to announce the victor of the days rapier combat. Lord Fergus called forth Duke Sir Morgunn Sheridan and declared him to be the top combatant on the rapier fields this day, and the overall Tournament Champion, scroll and calligraphy by Lord Edward Harbinger and illumination by Lady Gwenhwyvar Morwyn.

Their Excellencies called forth all gentles who were attending their first event on this day. They were thanked for attending, given tokens, and invited to attend future events.

Their Excellencies then called forth all the youths that had come out to the event this day. They were thanked for attending, given cookies, and invited to attend future events.

Their Excellencies then called forth Lord Michael Gladewyne. Lord Michael was thanked for serving as Baronial Fencing Champion for the past year and was divested of office. Lord Michael was then asked if he had any additional business to attend while in court. Lord Michael did then announce that Verederosa Dal Sol had completed all the training and paperwork involved and that she was now an official Chirurgeon.

Lord Corwin Alexander Templeton was called forth and declared the Baronial Fencing Champion. Lord Corwin was asked if he would carry out the duties of Fencing Champion and he agreed. He was then invested with the regalia of office and given a scroll, calligraphy by Lady Gilliane McGill de Verona and illumination by Lady Gwenhyvar Morwyn, and asked to take his place among the other Champions.

Their Excellencies then called for Lady Gwenhwyvar Morwyn to attend them. Lady Gwenhwyvar was declared the Baronial Bardic Champion and asked if she would carry out the duties of that office. She agreed to do so and was invested with the regalia of the office and given a scroll with the calligraphy and illumination done by her own hand (as is tradition), and asked to take her place among the other Champions.

Lady Felicity Flußmüllneren was called into court and their Excellencies spoke praise of her seamstressing and cooking and inducted her into their Order of the Capstan. Scroll, calligraphy and illumination by Lady Helene al Zarqa’.

Their Excellencies then called into court Captain John Michael Thorpe. The Baronage spoke of Captain Thorpe’s unwavering dedication to the baronial and kingdom fencing community, and that they were made aware that he was not yet a member of Millguard. They then made him a Companion of the Order. Scroll, calligraphy and illumination by Lady Faílenn ingen Chernaich.

Lady Faílenn ingen Chernaich was then received and made a Companion of the Windmill for her dedicated service to the barony as MOL. Scroll, calligraphy and illumination by Verederosa Dal Sol.

Marguerite de Neufchasteau was called into court and praise was given for her helpfulness at events and whenever called upon, for this she was made a Companion of the Windmill. Scroll, calligraphy and illumination by Verederosa Dal Sol.

Corbinus de Cuvae was called into court and was given praise for his helpfulness whenever there was a need. For all the effort and silent service he renders he was made a Companion of the Windmill. Scroll, calligraphy and illumination by Lady Gilliane McGill de Verona.

Their Excellencies then called forth Baron Oeric Lestrange. They spoke of the awards he created and his accomplishments during his reign as Baron. They then created him a Companion of the Mistral. Etched glass scroll and stained glass emblem of the Order done by Baron Artemius.

Lady Faílenn ingen Chernaich was then called back into court and announced that she would be stepping up as Baronial Seneschal and that she would be stepping down as Minister of the Lists. She went on to say that THL Moniczka Elzbietka Poznanska would be stepping up to fill the position of Minister of Lists.

Corbinus de Cuvae was then called back into court and asked if he had any further business for this court. He said that he wanted to carry on a tradition started by our very own Baron Artemius and propose to his love at the Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins. He called forth Marguerite de Neufchasteau and got down on one knee and proposed to her. She nodded her acceptance to much applause.

Their Excellencies then said that they could not thank everyone in the Barony of Delftwood for making their first year such a pleasure. In order to show their appreciation they made a donation to the American Cancer Societyin the name of the Barony of Delftwood.

There being no further business, court was closed.
