Court Reports of the Barony of Delftwood
Artemius and Clarice
June 9th, AS 42
(2007)
Barony Wars and Bazaar
Shire of Sterlynge Vayle
Here follows the report of the Morning Court of Their Excellencies,
Artemius Andreas Magnus and Clarice Roan, eighth Baron and Baroness of
Delftwood. Court held on the 9th day of June, A.S. XLII (2007) at
Barony Wars and Bazaar held in the Shire of Sterlynge Vayle. Alheydis
von Körckhingen, reporting herald.
Their Excellencies exchanged words of kindness and friendship with His
Excellency, Ulrich Drachendonner, Baron of Endless Hills. His
Excellency Baron Ulrich was reminded that the army, artisans, and
shoppers of Delftwood had collectively bested those of Endless Hills
the previous year. There arose a disagreement as to whether the outcome
of this year's contest would be the same. His Excellency, Baron
Artemius, called upon his Champion of Heavy Weapons, Lord
Óláfr Þorvarðarson, and asked whether
Delftwood's army was prepared to educate the fighters of Endless Hills
in the arts of war, his exact words being, "teach them a lesson." Lord
Óláfr proposed that the fighters of Endless Hills should
have been well taught this lesson, but that if their memory should be
failing, he and his army were prepared to teach again.
With winds of war stirring, there being no further business before
Their Excellencies, their court was closed.
Here follows the report of the Afternoon Court of Their Excellencies,
Artemius Andreas Magnus and Clarice Roan, eighth Baron and Baroness of
Delftwood. Court held on the 9th day of June, A.S. XLII (2007) upon the
field of battle at Barony Wars and Bazaar, held in the Shire of
Sterlynge Vayle. Alheydis von Körckhingen, reporting herald.
Their Excellencies called forth Maria Adriane and spoke of her
contributions and talents in providing music to the barony on flute and
drum. In recognition of those noble arts, they made her a Companion of
the Order of the Capstan. Scroll text by Alheydis von Körckhingen,
with scroll to follow.
Their Excellencies then called upon Lord Benedict Fergus atte Mead and
remarked happily on his many involvements in serving the barony as
fencer, marshal and teacher. In honor of his services, they made him a
Companion of the Order of the Windmill. Scroll text by Lady Catherine
O'Herlihy, calligraphed by Her Excellency Baroness Clarice and
illuminated by Lady Gilliane McGill de Verona.
There being no further business before Their Excellencies, their court
was closed.
Here follows the report of the Evening Court of Their Excellencies,
Artemius Andreas Magnus and Clarice Roan, eighth Baron and Baroness of
Delftwood. Court held on the 9th day of June, A.S. XLII (2007) at
Barony Wars and Bazaar, held in the Shire of Sterlynge Vayle. Alheydis
von Körckhingen, reporting herald.
Their Excellencies bore witness to the court of Ulrich Drachendonner,
Baron of Endless Hills, during which Their Excellencies were presented
with a banner from the hand of Lord Eoghan Rurikson, autocrat of the
day's event. The Latin inscription upon the banner bore testament to
the fact that Delftwood had come in second in the day's contest, while
Endless Hills had finished next to last.
There being no other business before Their Excellencies, their court
was closed.
Respectfully submitted,
Alheydis
