Court Reports of the Barony of Delftwood
Oeric
June 10th AS 41
(2006)
Barony Wars and Bazaar
Shire of Sterlynge Vayle
Here follows the report of the Morning Court of His Excellency, Oeric,
Baron of Delftwood, Their Excellencies Robert and Isabella, Baron and
Baroness of Endless Hills in attandance. Court held on the 10th day of
June, A.S. XLI (2006) at Barony Wars and Bazaar in the Shire of
Sterlynge Vayle. Alheydis von Körckhingen, reporting herald.
His Excellency spoke most warmly of the peace and friendship enoyed
between his populace and the people of his cousins to the south. In the
hope and trust that peace would ever prevail between these lands, His
Excellency presented unto his gentle cousins, Robert and Isabella, a
friendship banner made by the skillful and industrious hands of the
Honorable Lady Moniczka Elzbietka Poznanska. Her Excellency, Isabella,
noted with consternation that the arms of Delftwood appeared to chief
of those of Endless Hills, and did take umbrage that the arms of her
lands should be so abased. Her Excellency threatened violence with her
herald's staff, to which His Excellency answered in kind with the (much
larger) staff of his herald. But before an opening blow could be
struck, an appeal was made to the Queen's guardsmen that he might
suggest a means by which is should be decided who "gets to be on top."
It was the suggestion of Her Majesty's guard that the populace of both
lands should decide victory by doing it on the arts and sciences table,
on the battle field, on the fencing list, on the archery range and on
the throwing butts. The suggestion of such activity falling pleasantly
upon willing contestants, war was declared.
There being no further business before His Excellency, court was closed.
