Barony of Delftwood
Here follows the report of the Court of His Excellency Oeric, Baron of
Delftwood, held on the 6th day of May, A.S. XLI (2006) at A Shoote in
the Wilde Woods. Alheydis von Körckhingen, reporting herald.
His Excellency spoke warmly of the many years of constant service that
The Honorable Lord Orm of Lochmor and Lady Thyrri Oddsdottir have given
to the Wilde Woods events and to the archers of Delftwood. His
Excellency’s sadness at the tidings of their retirement as the
organizers of the event was tempered by the anticipation and promise of
their new endeavors. With thanks for their selfless service, His
Excellencybowed before them and, with the assistance of Lord Justin
Lymner, presented them with gifts in gratitude and appreciation.
Lord Justin Lymner, Baronial Bardic Champion, was called forth. His
Excellency spoke eloquently of Lord Justin’s story-telling and invited
Lord Justin to entertain his people. Lord Justin told the story of the
Zen Master, to the delight of the populace. His time of service at an
end, Lord Justin was divested of the regalia of bardic champion.
Mischief and Mayhem were called before His Excellency. Having warned
the His people of the imminent danger of invading bards, His Excellency
made Mischief and Mayhem spies of His court, that they might protect
His lands and His people from euterpean assault.
Clarice Roan was called forth and by virtue of her moving poetry was
declared to be the new Bardic Champion of Delftwood. She was presented
with the bardic champions book, and was invited to take her place among

Sarah the Flirt was called forth and thanked or her safe guardianship
of the Legendary Arrow of the Archers of the Greyledge. Having
safeguarded this treasure for the past year, young Sarah returned the
arrow to His Excellency, whereupon Lady Svana inn Kyrra, mother of
Sarah, recounted the legend first told by Lord Edward the Grey of
Greyledge.
Anastasia was called forth, accompanied by her escort and father, Lord
Gauen Wydefare. As the youngest archer of the day, Anastasia was
praised for her youthful enthusiam for the bow. She was then entrusted
with the Arrow of the Archers of Greyledge and charged with its care
for the coming year. The arrow, the work of the hands of Thyrri
Oddsdottir with a Viking point of the hands of Orm of Lochmor, was
first presented by Lord Edward the Grey of Greyledge, at a Shoote in
the Wilde Woods of many years past, to the youngest archer of the day.
Since that time, the arrow has been safeguarded by the youngest archer
of each Shoote in the Wilde Woods.
The youth archers were called before His Excellency, who expressed his
gratitude for their skill and bravery against the beasts and monsters
discovered in residence in the Wilde Woods. His Excellency then
presented the children with payment of jewels and coins as a token of
his appreciation for their victory against the creatures, and for the
safe rescue of many small animals from danger.
Gyles de Blair was called forth. His Excellency, in His office as
Baronial Historian, reminded the populace that at the previous Shoote
in the Wilde Woods, Gyles had proven himself to be the only baronial
archery champion brave enough to face the weather and fierce
competition of the Seven Pearls Archery Tournament. His Excellency then
presented Gyles with the scroll from that event. Scroll painted by Lady

Master Baron Connor Bowsplitter was called forth. His Excellency spoke
to the skill and bowmanship of Master Connor and declared him be new
Seven Pearls Archery Champion. Scroll painted by Lady Fenris McGill and

Master Baron Connor Bowsplitter was called forth once again. His
Excellency, Oeric, praised Master Connor’s skill at hunting barley and
brewing with arrows, and declared Master Connor to be the winner of the
Shoote in the Wilde Woods open tournament. Scroll painted by Lady

Gyles de Blair was called before His Excellency and thanked for his
willing service as Delftwood's Baronial Archery Champion and for his
brewing themed tournament targets. As the champion’s term of service
had come to an end, he was divested of the regalia of champion, and
presented with a cowbell as a token of His Excellency’s gratitude and
appreciation.
Edward Harbinger was then called forth, and in recognition of skillful
and honorable shooting this day, was declared to be the new Baronial
Archery Champion of Delftwood. His Excellency did invest him with the
regalia of office and invited him to take his rightful place among the

Gyles de Blair was then called back before His Excellency. After
speaking of his many contributions to the barony and populace, His
Excellency did then make him a Companion of the Order of the Windmill.

Louisa MacNayre was called forth. Louisa being absent, Lord Christopher
Harper came forth to speak for her. His Excellency spoke warmly of
Louisa MacNayre’s years of service and support of the art of archery in
the barony of Delftwood. In recognition of her many contributions
throughout the years, Louisa MacNayre was made a Companion of the Order
of the Windmill in absentia, and Lord Christopher was charged with the
safe delivery of the document. Scroll painted and calligraphed by

The Court of His Excellency Oeric was thus completed.
